Come With Me
02:26
|
|||
Come with me, come
Come and see, come
To a world made up of wind and sky
Where daisies bloom and redbirds fly
We want you to play
Outside with us all day
In a place that still has room for more
Come before you grow up anymore
And stay
Come
Come with me, come
Come and see, come
To a world made up of girls and boys
With trees for houses and stones for toys
You don't have to bring
Very much of anything
But we hope that you will come along
To a world where life is like a song to sing
Please come
We want you to come and play
We want you to stay all day
We want you to come and play
We want you to stay all day
Come

John The Rabbit
03:09
|
|||
Oh John the rabbit, yes ma'am
Got a mighty habit yes ma'am
Jumping in my garden "
Cutting down my cabbage "
My sweet potatoes "
My fresh tomatoes "
And If i live "
To see next fall "
I ain't gonna have "
No trouble at all "
Oh John the rabbit "
Got a mighty habit "
Jumping up in the morning "
Putting on his clothes
His socks and shoes
His shirt and pants "
And if he's ready "
at half past eight "
He can go to school "
and he won't be late"
Oh John the rabbit, yes ma'am
Got a mighty habit yes ma'am
Jumping in my garden "
Cutting down my lettuce "
And all my carrots "
My squash and peppers "
And If i live "
To see next spring "
I ain't gonna have "
A cotton pickin thing"
And if I live "
to see next fall "
I ain't gonna have "
no cotton at all "

I Will Go Into The Day
03:13
|
|||
I will go into the day
and see the beauty, come what may
hello again, hello my friend
hello o lovely day
o lovely day, you shade me
with clouds that hide the sun
and the wind blows
when the day is done
i will sing and i will play
and gather up a spring bouquet
then autumn's leaves will guide my way
on this lovely day
o lovely day you shade me
with clouds that hide the sun
and the wind blows
when the day is done
will you come and walk with me
treasures wait for us to see
a robin's nest
the old pine tree
the butterfly and bumblebee
soon the sun will go to bed
the croaking frogs and katydids
will sing lullabies as we rest our heads
and dream of this lovely day
o lovely day you shade me
with clouds that hide the sun
and the wind blows
when the day is done
when the day is done

Make It Yourself
03:03
|
|||
You got to make it yourself
there's nothing to it
make it yourself
just go ahead and do it
don't hesitate
cause it's gonna look great
if you make it yourself Today
You got to make it yourself
there's nothing to it
make it yourself
just go ahead and do it
don't hesitate
cause it's gonna look great
if you make it yourself today
What can I make - a fort made of branches
What can I make - a leafy fairy house
What can I make - a pallet to lie on as I look up at the clouds
What can I make - a woven basket
What can I make - a gumball bowl
What can I make - a tiny little city or a huge enormous hole
You got to make it yourself
there's nothing to it
make it yourself
just go ahead and do it
don't hesitate
cause it's gonna look great
if you make it yourself today
What can you make - acorn checkers
What can you make - a garland of leaves
What can you make - flower prints on paper that flutter in the breeze
What can you make - a mobile made of pinecones
what can you make - a daisy chain
What can you make - a little wooden toy or a shelter for when it rains
You got to make it yourself
there's nothing to it
make it yourself
just go ahead and do it
don't hesitate
cause it's gonna look great
if you make it yourself
nobody else
make it yourself today

Music of the Mountains
02:46
|
|||
Do you hear the music of the mountains
listening from your cabin bed
sunday evenings, singing softly
lakes and trees, peaks and valleys
I can hear the music of the mountains
As you walk the path with me
nature calls us like a sister
underneath the canopy
of trees that give us shade and shelter
Do you hear the music of the mountains
standing at the edge of night
in the gloaming, when all is quiet
listen for the still, small voices
I can hear the music of the mountains
Wind is rustling through the trees
as night falls upon the hillside
we lie on an open field
the great expanse of stars before us
Do you hear the music of the mountains
rising up in majesty
as I breathe in all the beauty
it's there to see, for you and me
it's crystal clear, for all to hear
And can you hear the music the mountains

Let's Take a Walk
02:30
|
|||
Let's take a walk
yeah let's take a walk
let's take a walk
oh let's take a walk
take a walk down the street
and see what we see, yeah
let's take a walk just you and me
get our legs moving
get our arms swinging
get our heart pumping
get our feet jumping
Let's take a walk
yeah let's take a walk
let's take a walk
oh let's take a walk
take a walk down the street
and see what we see, yeah
let's take a walk just you and me
Let's take a walk
Let's take a walk
Let's take a walk
Let's take a walk
The squirrels are swinging
as they run down the trees
birds on the branches
caterpillars on the leaves
Let's take a walk
yeah let's take a walk
let's take a walk
oh let's take a walk
take a walk down the street
and see what we see, yeah
let's take a walk just you and me
Let's take a walk
Let's take a walk
Let's take a walk
Let's take a walk
We can walk in the summer
We can walk in the spring
We can walk in the winter
We can walk in the fall and hear the crunch of the leaves
Let's take a walk
yeah let's take a walk
let's take a walk
oh let's take a walk
take a walk down the street
and see what we see, yeah
let's take a walk just you and me
let's take a walk just you and me

Donna Donna
03:57
|
|||
On a wagon bound for market
there's a calf with a mournful eye
high above him there's a swallow
winging swiftly through the sky
How the winds are laughing
they laugh with all their might
laugh and laugh the whole day through
and half the summer's night
Donna donna donna...
Stop complaining, says the farmer
who told you a calf to be?
why don't you have wings to fly with
like the swallow so proud and free
How the winds are laughing
they laugh with all their might
laugh and laugh the whole day through
and half the summer's night
Donna donna donna...
Calves are easily bound and slaughtered
never knowing the reason why
but whoever treasures freedom
like the swallow has learned to fly
How the winds are laughing
they laugh with all their might
laugh and laugh the whole day through
and half the summer's night
Donna donna donna...

Today
02:23
|
|||
Today I think I'll ride a bike
and then i'll make a pie
and dress up in a gown
Today I think i'll dip a paddle
then I'll fly a kite
and then I'll lie down
And watch the clouds
drift across the sky
then i'll jump and flitter away
just like a butterfly
Today I think I'll kick a ball
and then I'll take a walk
and then I'll climb a tree
Today I think I'll build a bridge
and then I'll fight a battle
and then I'll see
a beautiful stone
that looks like glass
then run and lose the rock
as it falls through the hole
in the pocket of my pants
Today I think i'll play a game
and then i'll sit and eat an apple to the core
Today I think I'll swing a bat
and then I'll pick some flowers
then I'll pick some more
Today I think I'll ride a bike
and then i'll make a pie
and dress up in a gown
Today I think i'll dip a paddle
then I'll fly a kite
and then I'll lie down...

Top of the Ocean
02:45
|
|||
Have you felt the tide on your toes
have you felt the wind blow
have you seen the sun come up
over the top of the ocean
and as the seagulls fly
through the clouds and the sky
feeling the spray on their wings
and other lovely things
as they go by
Have you felt the sand on your legs
as the water laps up and begs
you to get up and get in
hop a few waves and then
dry out under the sun
bury your feet until they're gone
close your eyes and hear the water play
hear it push and pull all day
Did you write your name in the sand
did you dig a moat around
a castle made of drips
with plastic buckets and shovels
the tide pushed the castle down
but then you built a better one
with spires full of sand
made by your hands
and it your own way
Did you float and look at the sky
did the ocean take you high
over the crest out of reach
and ride you back to the beach
did you look for shells on the shore
did you go back out for more
close your eyes and feel the water play
feel it push and pull you all day
Have you felt the tide on your toes
have you felt the wind blow
have you seen the sun come up
over the top of the ocean

Everybody needs a special place
where they can race or sit quietly
everybody needs a place to go
and it's good to know
there's one for you and me
Because life is hard
it feels good to get away
from the bustle of the world
to a place where you can play
Everybody needs a special place
where they can race or sit quietly
everybody needs a place to go
and it's good to know
there's one for you and me
If you're feeling low
just breathe in the morning air
o the places you can go
if you dare
Everybody needs a special place
where they can race or sit quietly
everybody needs a place to go
and it's good to know
there's one for you and me
it's there for you and me

I Went For A Month
04:07
|
|||
I went for a month into the mountains
And breathed the air so fresh and clean
I walked across the bridge to my cabin
And smiling faces waited there
We swam and we rode upon the horses
We sang and danced in one joyous wheel
Tetherball and four-square by the fountain
And heart-sung blessings at every meal
I want to live
I want to run through these open fields
Where there is hope
Where there is joy
Where the mountains yield
To our prayers
And songs for peace on Earth
Where we nestle in our beds
and hear the finest symphony on Earth
I went for a month into the mountains
I awoke and said, "Good morning, sun"
And as it rose into the sky we counted
All our blessings one by one
I acted in the plays and ran the courses
And stretched my body with delight
All a part of this great group of laughter
That stayed until we said goodnight
Day is done
Gone the sun
From lakes, hills and skies
And we stood around the fire
Warmed by embered light
Singing songs
And prayers for peace on Earth
Then we nestled in our beds
And heard the finest symphony on Earth
When my time had ended in the mountains
My mother drove me down the winding roads
Weaving through the tears and towns into the flatlands
And I wondered which i should call my home
The world has its meanness and vainglory
Sometimes i think i cannot endure
And then i close my eyes and feel the mountains
And hold close all of my memories there
Where I could live
Where i could run through the open fields
Where there is hope
Where there is joy
Where the mountains yield
To our prayers
And songs for peace on Earth
Then we nestled in our beds
And heard the finest symphony on Earth
